Good nutrition assists with many diverse health conditions and can bring about enormous shifts in mental health too. I follow a plant-based diet because I know it works best for me, for my body, mind and spirit. I will help you find a healthy way of eating that fits your moral perspective, likes and dislikes, health needs, budget and time restrictions. Your treatment may also include supplements if they are beneficial for you at this time.

What is a plant-based diet?

  • Plant-based is a diet based mainly on foods from plant sources: fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts and grains.
  • Plant-based diets generally focus on whole foods and avoid processed foods such as white flour, bread or rice, biscuits, cakes and pastries, sodas, chips, sweets, added sugars or fast foods.
  • Plant-based does not necessarily mean you have to be a strict vegetarian or vegan, as long as your diet is rich in whole foods, and you eat mostly plant foods.  
  • In Healthy at 100, John Robbins reports that, in communities following a 99% plant-based diet, people lived longer, had few diseases and chronic illnesses, and were active, contributing, happy members of their community, often well into their 100s.

Yoga Therapy

Yoga therapy facilitates awareness and brings about positive change helping you to heal yourself through the guided use of different yoga practices. This might include physical exercise, breathing, yoga philosophy, mudra, chanting, meditation or mindfulness techniques.

Your programme will be individually tailored for you and your current level of ability and interest. Whether you are recovering from an injury, dealing with a health condition, suffering stress or trauma, or simply want to become more aware of the inter-relationship of your body and mind, yoga therapy can maximise body awareness, realign the body, rehabilitate injuries, increase energy and create a more positive mindset.

For those wounded by civilization, yoga is the most healing salve.

If you’re not sure whether to dive in, why not schedule a Discovery Session? This is a phone conversation, where we will take a snapshot of where you are, look at where you want to be, and brainstorm some ideas of how to get there. This alone can help kickstart your healing, because you have taken the first steps towards change. You may feel that you are empowered to go on alone from here, or you might want to go further working with me.

Initial Consultation (90 mins)
and Follow-up (60 mins)

I see all my clients for a minimum of two sessions: the initial consultation and a follow-up. This allows me to get to know you, consider your case, do any necessary further research and map out a nourishing daily practice that you can fit into your life with ease.

Before you come in, I ask you to fill in a health questionnaire and diet diary, giving us more time to dive deep during our time together.

The initial consultation is an in-depth investigation of your life, looking beyond symptoms to the root causes of pain and suffering. We go through your history and discuss your current symptoms. I will also conduct a physical assessment of your posture and movement. We work together to discover what habits are not serving you well and to find new ones that will help you become healthier, happier and more fulfilled. I will help you to set intentions and goals that are realistic for you. If you need to have any tests to help us to clarify your current state of health, we can arrange this.

In your follow-up appointment, we review test results, discuss any questions you have, and I teach you your daily practice. This practice will be unique to you. It could include new diet and lifestyle habits, supplements, daily movement or an energetic practice such as meditation, chanting or breathwork. This is a collaborative process, and you will be encouraged to give feedback so that we can design your practice to be perfect for you, your needs and your abilities.

Subsequent Follow-up
(60 mins)

After working with your practice for a few weeks, or if your circumstances have changed, you will probably want to come back to review your practice and make any adjustments necessary so you continue to move forward. Packages and payment plans are available to make this more affordable for you and many health funds contribute towards nutrition consultations.
